Desi (McDowell) Siefkas

I am not married and am in the process of opening an independent insurance agency in Ankeny, Iowa. My son lives in Jacksonville, Florida. I really enjoy hearing from everyone and am looking forward to visiting with everyone.

Lynnette and I live in Altoona, Iowa. I was in the Navy from 1975-79 and returned home to farm. We were married in 1980 and lived in Clarke County until 2004. We are glad our son attended school at Clarke and had several of the teachers that we did. I worked in the diesel truck field for several years as mechanic and then service manager for Ruan and Housby Mack. I now work for DeSoto Equipment, a used farm equipment wholesaler. Lynnette works in accounting at Karl Chevrolet in Ankeny. She previously worked at Querrey Motors in Osceola as bookkeeper and later office manager, and for six years in between at the CCHS library. Our son, Justin, lives in Urbandale and works for Iowa Student Loan. We have a Shih-Tzu, Macey, that is our other child!

We enjoy photography, kayaking, history and travel, especially vacationing on the north shore of Lake Superior where we go at least once a year.
